We had a good week painting on the Croatian Community Mural. Connor Harrison joined our team. We have been visited by a lot of neighbors. One of them had the priests’ Christmas season blessing still above her door, and her mother not only played baseball for Saints Peter and Paul but also worked in a packing plant making sausages, just like images in our mural. The neighborhood is changing but the mural is still a reflection of the people. Another visitor we had appeared to be African-American and Hispanic (and she was) but she was also very proud of her Croatian roots. South Omaha IS a mixing pot.
